Business management

In this context, "business management" means taking care of the financial operations and the membership records of the organization.

Overview

A group of three or more people who work closely together can carry out the duties of the Business Manager. The duties can be divided up into three functional areas, as listed below. It would also be possible for people to "take turns" handling the duties, rotating among the areas, e.g., each handle one of the areas for a month. To do so, the people need to cooperate closely with each other.

All duties can be conducted from home.

Necessary tools and skills

All  ASURA Business Managers need the following to carry out responsibilities:

  • ASURITE UserID and password. If you don't have this, have never had it, and are going to be the ASURA Business Manager, you will have to request an ASU courtesy affiliate account.
  • Administrative access to ASURA's Wild Apricot implementation. This can be provided by the ASURA Technology Manager.
  • Ability to read and follow directions for using Wild Apricot (these are in the "Database Tasks" menu of this website).
  • Some ability to use Microsoft Excel.
  • Full access to content on this website. This can be provided by the ASURA Technology Manager.
