Review donation receipt

Donation receipts are sent whenever a donation recorded in the membership database, provided that the donor accepts emails from ASURA. The template for these email receipts should be reviewed annually, and updated as needed.

Overview

Since donations are processed and recorded in the appropriate account held by the ASU Foundation, the donor will receive a gift acknowledgment from the Foundation. 

When an optional (i.e., not membership renewal) donation is recorded in the membership database in Wild Apricot, an email receipt is sent, provided the donor has a valid email address on file.

The donation receipt should be reviewed before the start of each membership drive and updated if needed. For example, the text at the bottom that lists the ASU Foundation accounts may need revision.

How to update

To review and update the invoice template, you must have administrative privileges in Wild Apricot and be logged in and in the "Admin" rather than the "Public" view.

You can link directly to the automatic receipt or you can navigate to it while in Wild Apricot's Admin view:

  • From the Donations menu on the left, choose "Confirmation email"

Notes:

  • To edit, click on the "Edit" button at the top of the page, then click in the text area area, make your revisions, and click on the "Save" button at the top.
  • Do not remove the field {Donation_Comments} from the receipt, as this is where the donations details are listed, i.e., accounts and amounts.
