Add-edit Annual Report

An Annual Report is added to the ASURA website by uploading a PDF file with a specific name.

Overview

Annual Reports are listed on the Annual Reports page through use of a custom Drupal view. The view is named Annual Reports. It looks for PDF documents that have a filename containing "AnnualReport". Hence the need for a file naming convention.

The view lists all the documents that qualify in descending order by the file name description "Annual Report for yyyy-yyyy".

Add an Annual Report

Annual Reports are made available on the ASURA website as PDF files.

When the President has an issue ready:

  • Rename the PDF file to yyyy_YYYYAnnualReport.pdf

where yyyy is the first of April of the Presidential term and YYYY is the last
  • Double-check that the file name is as above -- no spelling mistakes or errors. If the name isn't right the file will not be listed on the Annual Report page.
  • Upload the file to the ASURA website per instructions for uploading a document

When uploading, in the Name field (this is document name, and not the same as file name) enter "Annual Report for yyyy-yyyy" where yyyy-yyyy is the membership year.
  • Check that the document is listed on the Annual Report page. If it isn't, it means that the file name is not correct -- the name of the PDF file, not the document name. In that case, delete the document from the website, and begin again.

Edit an Annual Report

If changes need to be made to an Annual Report that has been uploaded:

  • Delete the document from the website.
  • Make the needed changes.
  • Follow the above procedure for adding an Annual Report.
